Sound Healing

“Sound is the medicine of the future.” – Edgar Cayce

Physics defines sound as a vibration that propagates as an auditable wave of pressure and displacement, though a medium such as air or water. The human body is made up of 70% water which makes it a perfect medium for sound vibration. Our body is affected by sound on the cellular level. Through the use of Himalayan Singing bowls, the body is introduced to the healing harmonic sound wave that helps dislodge stagnation on the cellular level.

The individual private session is usually one hour long and the participant lies in a supported supine position on a massage table. During a group session, deep relaxation protocols are introduced as well the bowl is placed and rung directly on a person’s body to encourage deeper vibrations. During a private or semi-private session sound healing can be used as a complimentary approach to address areas such as arthritis, ADHD/ADD, anti-depression, anti-anger, and chakra balancing to name a few.

I trained with the Atma Buti® Sound and Vibrational School to learn Sound Healing Therapy techniques with Himalayan singing bowls. Suren Shrestha, Atma Buti® founder and author of the book "How to Heal with Singing Bowls", is a native of Nepal, where this type of sound healing therapy originated and students like me come from all over the world to learn this ancient healing modality.
